Who We Are?
What we believe
Our Church exists for the purpose of passionately pursuing Jesus in an atmosphere of intimate worship, freedom, and ministry of the Holy Spirit, and to reach the city and the Nations of the world with the love and compassion of Christ. Everything we do here is centered around our core values. Our core values are clearly expressed in the life of our church all our ministry.
Our Core Values
We believe the bible is the inspired Word of God and is relevant for practical, godly living and success. We believe Scripture should be the foundation for our lives as believers. This plays out through Bible-based teaching during our services. We believe that the Bible is the catalyst for transformation in individual lives and in the church.
We value heartfelt worship that is God honoring , spirit directed and life changing. To see a Church whose heartfelt praise and worship touches Heaven and changes earth; worship which influences the praises of people throughout the earth, exalting Christ with powerful songs of faith and hope.
We believe that we should be an accurate reflection of the cultures which are represented in the location. In order for this to happen, we strive to provide a welcoming atmosphere for those of varied cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We believe that being a multi-cultural church means that opportunities for ministry and leadership are available to those from cultures other than the majority. Although the leadership places a premium on being led by the Spirit in releasing individuals into those positions, no person shall be denied these opportunities based upon their ethnicity. (Revelation 5:9,10)
We value the sanctity of marriage and the family according to God’s design. We value strengthening the families of our church through clear biblical instruction defining and guiding marriage and parenting relationships. Biblical families will reflect the image of God. We are committed to strengthening the family both through preaching, teaching and pastoral care. We provide a variety of ministries designed to strengthen the home with training for marriage, finances, and effective parenting. (Genesis 1:27,28; 2:20-24)
We believe that we are called by God to be a blended congregation, combining the various generations into one worship service. We strive to provide specialized ministry to various age groups, yet we maintain that when we come together for worship, we are one family, nurturing each other, depending upon each other. We believe we gain great strength from the bonds between generations, and we place a premium on a spirit of acceptance and tolerance between those of various ages. We believe that each generation has a unique impartation that should be valued by the preceding or succeeding generations. We strive for a harmonious multi-generational worship expression characterized by appreciation and celebration of our unique styles. (Titus 2:2-6)
We believe the church should be a place of openness, honesty and loving relationships. We want people to feel valued and respected as individuals, but also belong to a small group for mutual encouragement, discipline and support. We believe everyone need to be connected to a caring community. We believe life-change happens best in the context of relationships. In clusters of caring people, participants share and encourage each other toward spiritual growth. Here people can experience both the benefits of a larger church and enjoy the kind of relationships that only develop in small, safe settings. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
We believe that our church should make a significant social contribution for those in need. We believe that we are blessed to be a blessing to others and that faith without work is dead. We help poor and underprivileged communities in many practical ways so as to lift the levels of their lives. The Help Foundation is our key avenue for showing compassion, giving financial help and service to the poor.
Character and Integrity
We believe that character is more important than gifting and that a Godly life brings honour and respect to the Church of God, and increased influence in the world. True believing should affect our behaviour and believers should be people of the highest integrity, honesty and trustworthiness. We should be people of integrity and honesty in all that we do, within and outside the church. (Matthew 5:13-16)
Disciples of Jesus are made, not born. Disciples result from a deliberate process of skill training and spiritual formation that brings a follower of Jesus to a higher plane of spiritual dedication and loyalty. The goal of our ministry is to transform people into fully devoted followers of Christ. We strive to help each person discover and utilize their passion to grow the Kingdom of God. (Mat. 28:18-20)
We believe the attitude and action of prayer is essential to everything we do. We acknowledge the primacy and priority of prayer both individually and corporately, constantly seeking God’s will and the leading of the Holy Spirit in everything.(Philippians 4:6) We believe in the power of prayer to reach our families, city and beyond. Prayer must be to us as oxygen is to the human body. (Col. 4:2)
We believe that every member should be a faithful financial partner with this local church so as to empower and equip us for ongoing impact. Tithing is a prerequisite for membership as it shows a willingness to support the house and demonstrates faith in God.
Everything we do must be done with excellence. We believe that giving our best brings honor to God and inspires people. We believe in doing the very best for God in every aspect of our lives and ministries. God’s people and facilities should reflect the God of excellence that we serve. (Col. 3:23)
We believe that every believer is called and gifted by God for an eternal purpose. The church is made up of individuals, male and female, young and old, all of whom are of equal value to God and to whom he has given gifts to be used in his service. We are equipping them to be “doers of the word and not hearers only,” serving the Lord in a practical way that is spiritually fulfilling and eternally effective. (James 1:22)
Ministry is therefore the responsibility of each person and we encourage people to discover and use the gifts God has given them. We believe that each believer has received a special gift and should employ it in serving others, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. Spiritual giftedness and maturity determines where and how a believer serves. (1 Peter 4:10)
The goal of outreach and missions is to make disciples of Jesus Christ through relationships that allow opportunities for the Gospel to be shared. Through engaging our neighbors locally, regionally, and globally, we can strategically create relationships that provide opportunities to do so. As believers, we have a responsibility to share the gospel with those who do not know Jesus. (Mat. 28:19)
